
Artist Statement
Title: The surprised man.
Describe: Its a surprised man with his eyes open wide, his eyebrows are raised.
Analyze: I used value to create contrast.
Interpret: The message is like when you are surprised by a birthday party that you didn't know was happening.
Judge: I think this piece was successful because the value and contrast was very good.
Artist Statement: My inspiration for this piece is to capture the face of a surprised person. To show the show the facial expressions.
The process I used was grid, mapping and contrast and value. I used these to make my piece stand out and look realistic.
Title: The bell pepper
1. Describe: It is a bell pepper.
2. Analyze: I used lines to create movement of the eye.
3. Interpret: The message of this piece is to be healthy.
4. Judge: I think my piece was successful be cause I made my piece to look healthy.
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this piece is to have a healthy life. The bell pepper is a very healthy snack and it is even used to cook healthy meal.
The process I used is if you make lines to make your eyes follow it. I also used a lot of contrast to show where the light source is coming from.
Title: The Jelly Fish
1. Describe: It is a vibrant colored jelly fish floating lonely in the great ocean.
2. Analyze: I used color to create unity.
3. Interpret: The message for my piece is to be unique and stand out, be different.
4. Judge: I think this piece is successful because I used color and lines and value and it is balanced.
Artist Statement: My inspiration for this piece was the uniqueness of the jelly fish. It stands out and looks very peaceful but yet still has a touch of danger. The process I used was lines to create the image. I used layering to get the color how I wanted it.
Title: ALL IS WELL
Describe: This piece is very creative and it has a heart with scar like wounds and a all is well symbol in the top right.
Analyze: I used color and lines to create movement and emphasis.
Interpret: Even though your fine now you was hurt at some point in time.
Judge: I think this piece was successful because it is very different and it is similar to Bansky.
Artist Statement
My inspiration for this piece is to try to make this world a better place. because life is rough and you cant let your mistakes and scar define who you are.
The process I used for my piece was sketching this piece out and adding color. I put colors down first then put my letter on the canvas and used them as a stencil. and added a heart.
Title: Kane the Tiki god
Describe: In this piece I created a master style Tiki god.
Analyze: I used shape and texture to create movement.
Interpret: The message of this piece is to show that he is the creator of the universe.
Judge: I think my piece is successful because I use shapes to make a Tiki god
Artist statement: my inspiration for this piece is to be godly. I chose Kane because he is the creator of the universe.
The process I used was molding and shaping to get specific shapes. It was a little difficult to shape and mold the clay.
The candle
My piece is a candle in a candle holder on top of a table. The name of this piece is the light in the night. The element and principles in this piece is color, balance, pattern, and unity.
I used a variety of oil pastel techniques to get the results I was aiming to achieve. In this piece I used sgraffito, a blending stub, and oil pastels. It was not a easy project, it was frustrating and I kept having to start over. I over came this by making the art work how I wanted it to.
I seen this piece on google and I was like "Hey Mrs. Mciver can I do this" and she said "Mmmm no its to easy don't you think Jamie" and then I told her my twist I was going to put on it. The message I was trying to show is that there is always a brighter side of things and not to let the darkness take control.
My goals as a artist is to grow my understanding of art to help me become a better artist. In this piece I did reach my goal as a artist. I am pleased with this piece because it is different. Also I feel like it also shows the peacefulness of the flame and the eagerness of wanting to burn.
I learned a lot about oil pastels in creating this work. I learned new techniques for shading and blending. This piece turned out exactly as I thought it would. I love how the colors so easily blended together.
The divided shirt
For this piece I have created a shirt that has been divided up to represent how everything is held back by guide lines or in this case white lines. I created my shirt using masking tape and spray paint. The elements I used for this piece is color, lines and shapes. The principles I used for my piece is patterned.
The media of this piece is spray paint. I chose spray paint because of the way it looks when it dries. The tools I used for this piece are masking tape, spray paint and a clear coat of sealer.
My inspiration for this piece is Pablo Picasso. The way he used cubism. I also used shapes to convey diversity.
The abandon town
In this piece I have created a abandon city. It is suppose to represent loneliness of the City. The title of this piece is "The abandon town". I used shading to create contrast and to balance this piece out with darker and lighter areas.
I began this piece with nothing more than a pencil a piece of paper and a ruler. This piece was a little difficult due to the positions of the buildings and the shade the buildings throw off. The techniques I used for this piece was shading. I had to shade some areas lighter than other areas.
This piece is suppose to express loneliness and abandonment. There are so many towns and city's that are some how just forgotten about. In fact there are about 12 abandon city's world wide. The thing that inspired my piece is that there are city's and towns forgotten about and nobody knows why.
My goals as a artist is to impact the world and make a change on how people view certain things. This piece did help a little for me to become a better artist. It allowed me to express my feelings about what I feel.
I learned how to shade and do perfect contrast. The final piece is what I thought it would turn out to be. This Will help me make future decisions.
